Congrats
Paul,
Did you get your notice by US mail. I am in Ventura County and figured that it would be at least Monday or Tuesday till mail from Sacramento made it this far south. Being in Huntington Beach, I was surprised to see you found out so quickly. I had checked the website to see if the new PLSs had been added to the database, but no names for PLS 8411 show up yet.
I will definitely be looking out for my mail person this afternoon!!!

Me Too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just got my "thin letter". What a relief. Thanks to Paul Cuomo, CLSA Channel Islands Chapter and my co-workers at Los Angeles County Public Works for their support and encouragement.

I got the "light" envelope Saturday. I could see the "Congratulations" underneath the address window. It was very exciting and a relief!
I want to thank Paul Cuomo and John Pavlik, your review course was awesome! I want to publicly thank my mentor John Strohminger who gave me the desire to go for the license in the first place, and who shared so freely of his knowledge. I always enjoy our “discussions.”
Thanks John, you exemplify the profession!

Rob:
I have no idea how many passed from our course. I've sent the list to Mike Parks and the Dee.
As far as dinner...I think we can artrange summat...
Looks like a big crop of people passed this year.
The numbers have usually been assigned alphabetically up 'til now. Wonder what the sort method was this year...

Fat chance that you had the lowest score? It's a good thing that you didn't need the humility bonus points. ;-)
Both the person who passed with the highest score and the one who passed with the lowest score have this in common: they may both use PLS after their name, they may survey without supervision, and neither actually knows whether they aced the exam or if they barely slid in under the wire.
Other than the fact they passed, the score is now meaningless. What matters is what they do from here. Do they practice with professionalism? Do they continue to progress in their knowledge, actively seeking out educational opportunities? Or do they look at their license simply as a hurdle to get over and their ticket to practice the way that they want to.
I've met plenty of survey technicians on their way to licensure who were better than some licensees who figured that since they passed, the state has now declared that they know it all.
If the person who passed with the lowest score continues to progress, and the person with the highest score doesn't because he already knows it all, the former will surely be a better surveyor than the latter within 3 years, if not already.
Advice in short: Don't get arrogant about your license and what you think your score was. Even some of those with the best scores would likely be surprised and disappointed if they had the opportunity to review their graded exam and see what they missed.

Do you know what they call the person who scored the lowest passing score on the medical exam?

8552 last number so far.
They give the numbers in the order of who has all the requirements satisfied. If some are done at the same time then they probably go alphabetical. Some more numbers might pop-up as those who haven't sent in the take home test do so.
