Salary Survey

Attached are the results from the CLSA Salary Survey.

The survey was broke down into 4 geographic areas and then broke down further by job title. A map outlining the geographic areas is also attached.

Does anybody know the time period during which the surveys were taken?

Seems like being an owner in SoCal and the Bay area is more profitable that in the other area's. Dept. Mangers and Project Surveyors all seem to make about the same. Northern California is much less expensive to live in, so maybe it works out in the end? The Central Coast is not cheap, so I'm not sure what's going on there ... maybe to much competition?


Maybe it's the cost of the equipment? GPS is very expensive, so we charge an hourly rate for them, so we can pay the cost over time and justify buying it in the first place. The same goes for a Robotic instrument.

If it costs 20K-80K and saves lots of time and you are doing a T&M job, your profits just took a nose dive. Charge the client, and you’ll still be faster and cheaper than if you were using a conventional instrument.
