ALTA Survey for Condo's

Post by GWinglovitz »

I have never heard of this, but I got a request from a potential client to give them a quote for an ALTA survey on a commercial condominium. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?

Nope never heard of it or done one, at least that I can remember. But it makes perfect sense to me, that in order to make a certain type of loan, that a lender might require an ALTA policy.
Some of the issues do seem a bit goofy.... showing impacts on airspace....a unit in a building with several other units as opposed to a free standing building surrounded by parking.... sound like a nice project.

Yes. I worked on one for a shopping mall that had 3d parcels and we had to show the insides of the parking structures and basements. One of the most complicated maps I've ever worked on. The best thing though was that I wasn't in responsible charge of it. Pre-3d scanning.
