Here is an email that was sent to our chapter membership that explains the cost of attending and how you can support our scholarship drive:

"...We will be having our 1st Annual Walk-A-Thon/5K on September 25th at the very nice Yucaipa Regional Park located at 33900 Oak Glen Road in Yucaipa. The Chapter really needs YOUR help to make this fundraiser a BIG SUCCESS, we need you to get sponsors. Some suggestion that may help, are to ask your neighbors, company you work for, companies you don't work for or even yourself. The idea behind the fundraiser is to create additional funds to help with scholarships. Sponsors can donate as much as they like so don't be shy in asking for $20, $30, $50 or even $100 or more if they would like too.

"With times being as they may, I understand the position that most of us are in, that is why we have kept the cost down to enter into the Walk-A-Thon/5K, $10. to participate and $15 to come hang and enjoy the fun plus $10. (car load) fee to get into the park. Your entry fee covers your meal, which consist of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and non alcoholic drinks along with a very cool t-shirt commemorating the event for those walking or running the course. If you are interested in purchasing a t-shirt or even additional t-shirts, please let me know. Cost will depend on the size needed, large and x-large will be $10 and xx-large will be $12.50. The t-shirts are safety orange (100% cotton) with the CLSA logo on the front pocket and date and place of the Walk-A-Thon/5K on the back, very cool if I do say so myself.
