Licensed Surveyor Looking For Home

Post by Sunburned_Surveyor »

I'm looking for an opportunity to make a career change. I'd like to find a good home where I can spend the next few decades. Here is what I bring to the table:
  • I'm licensed to practice land surveying in California and Nevada.
  • I follow a strict work ethic.
  • I have very high standards of morality and professional practice.
  • I work extremely well with others.
  • I have excellent oral and written communications skills, with experience as a published author and public speaker.
  • I have experience as the project manager of the surveying components of large public works infrastructure projects.
  • I'm very comfortable with technology, and have a knowledge of computer programming, web design, graphic design and GIS.
  • I have a strong desire to teach and mentor other professionals
  • I actively participate in professional organizations, including CLSA.
  • I have a deep love for land surveying and continually look for opportunities to better the profession and my own land surveying practice.
  • I understand how to meet the needs of the engineers on a project's design team.
  • I appreciate the complexities and challenges of boundary surveying.
  • I understand how to reduce and manage risk on surveying projects.
  • I understand the connection between my paycheck and the financial performance of the organization that I serve.
  • There are many things in life more important to me than money.
Here is what I'm looking for in a potential employer:
  • An organization that shows appreciation of my hard work, loyalty, and dedication.
  • An organization that recognizes responsibilities at work must be balanced with responsibilities to family, community, and religion.
  • An organization with a clear plan for preparing and transitioning responsibility to future leaders.
  • An organization that is looking for ways to successfully adapt to changes in our profession, the economy, and our society.
  • An organization that places a high value on creative and innovative thinkers.
  • An organization that will provide me with an opportunity to be treated with all fairness in the same manner as my engineering peers.
  • An organization that supports continuing education.
  • An organization that makes time for routine maintenance and training that is important to the proper functioning of a survey department.
  • An organization that allows me to make decisions about the execution of work for which I'm in responsible charge.
An ideal employer would also have the following:
  • An office located in Central California.
  • A workload I could immediately sink my teeth into.
If you are looking for a land surveyor, and feel like I would be a good match for your organization based on the above criteria, please send an e-mail to sunburned.surveyor@gmail.com with “Opportunity” in the subject line. You can also leave a phone message at (209) 676-1538 if you prefer.

I will make a complete resume and reference letters available upon request.
