You know the economy isn't getting any better when one of the first things you read about a job opening is: "Only the first 50 apps will be accepted!"
Temporary job. Only $18/hour.

Temporary?
I worked as a temp once for a municipality. The City decided I was worth keeping so they "magically" created a full-time permanent position for me. Best job I ever had and I probably should have stayed there. I think employers routinely fill positions at the temp level so they can easily get rid of you if they don't like you.
So, apply if you're interested, and see what happens.
Best of luck,
Mark

Oh, I don't think so. No, they probably figure on getting inundated with applications and that it would be best to cut it off quickly. Out of the 50 they'll probably get 40 that are either sufficiently qualified, or overly qualified. So why bother reading through 250 apps?
By the way, I did apply.
