In 1923 a subdivision was done where the surveyor set 2 inch IP's at the tract corners. The distance between the two pipes was about 1413 feet long, the north end at a RR R/W and the south end at a public R/W. The terrain then was slight gradient..basically flat. Orange Grove land.
In 2003 an RS was filed that made monument calls to the subject line of this post. At the south end a lead/nail, no reference, was held. No mention of the 2 " pipe. About 280' northerly the RS finds another lead/nail, another non referenced monument. At the intersection of the line and the C/L of another public RW, a city noted spike was found that made reference to the line. This monument was destroyed by construction shortly after the RS files.
A bit later in 2003, the same surveyor sets a S/W at his position of the destroyed city spike and files a CR.
In 2007 a different surveyor is surveying a property that is common to the line. He recovers the southern 2" pipe, 18" down. He then uses the 2003 S/W as control for the line.
In 2008 another surveyor starts an RS. He recovers the northern pipe and uses the same 2003 S/W as line control.
In my opinion the only surveyor who got the line right was the one in 1923.
Out of respect for my peers I wont name names or post documents, but seriously, if two different surveyors can find the pipes marking the north and south end of the 1923 line, you would think that one of the three involved could have at least done a complete job.. I think that to survey through from the south to north end of the line would not have taken more than 2 hours..
