California Surveying and Drafting Supply, An Authorized Trimble GPS Dealer and ESRI Business Partner, is currently seeking applicants for a Technical Support Specialist position for their Sacramento location.


Job description:

This is primarily a phone & remote technical support position; the qualified applicant will possess the right combination of technical and personal skills with knowledge, expertise, and experience within the Mapping, GIS & Land Surveying Profession.

Responsibilities will include remotely Supporting (over telephone and PC) and Consulting for and with the Trimble Mapping, GIS & Surveying product line of Hardware and Software as well as associated hardware and software from ESRI, Laser Technology, LaserCraft, SECO, and others.


Requirements:

Education:

Preferably at least an Associate’s Degree or Surveying/Technical Certificate. LS or LSIT also highly desired.

Experience:

1-3 Years field & office surveying experience preferred but will consider all applicants. A thorough knowledge of GPS & Conventional Surveying and at least a base knowledge GIS required; Knowledge of Windows-based platforms, mobile applications and general IT/Networking . Subject knowledge and outgoing personality more heavily weighted.

Success in the position will be determined by the individual's ability to resolve software & hardware issues customers are experiencing by providing solutions and acceptable alternatives in a timely manner. Effective/clear communication will also be a major contributor to the success of this position. The individual’s ability to progress in technical abilities will be measured on an on-going basis. Response and resolution times metrics will be a measure of success, in addition to customer feedback.


Compensation:

Very competitive compensation will be commensurate on experience and education; this is an entry to mid level position but will consider all applicants. Health Insurance, 401K Profit Sharing, Paid Vacation.
