Looking back over the year, this law again proved itself to be true:
1. was on a construction site where building contractor usually does not show up. While I was just discovering a mistake in my layout, he showed up to watch me pull out the stakes.
2. The boss (actually my partner) who handles mostly the office side of things showed up just when I decided to take a very brief break after working straight through my lunch hour again.
3. The TS batteries were both found to be run down only after arriving at the most inaccessible point of the survey. They were OK earlier in day.
4. in any given calculation, the figure that is most obviously correct will be the source of error.
5. you did pre-calcs for various old maps before going to the field; the only map that you did not pre-calc is the one with the mistake.
