Does the county require that the license expiration date be shown? I was glad when the state removed that requirement, as it complicated submittals and confused clients without conveying any useful information.

Jim,

I think it's personal preference, now that is optional.

I have taken an X-acto blade to my seal ...

Up until recently (last year) I believe the expiration date was still required for subdivision maps per SMA. The Counties down here that I submit stuff to generally show them for the County Surveyors or Deputies signing any map (FM, PM, RS).

Congratulations! This is very exciting Rick. You will make a fine County Surveyor and undoubtedly you will elevate the stature of the profession. Good luck!
