The Altum Group is seeking a motivated and experienced land survey professional to serve as Chief Surveyor in charge of the mapping and survey Service Area. Key responsibilities will include supervising mapping, boundary, topographic, ALTA’s, as-built or GPS surveys as well as construction staking. Will be responsible for proper scheduling, budget, contract and client interaction for all projects in this Service Area. Will prepare and enforce methods of multiple project tracking and quality control for managers under their direction. Will be responsible for aggressively identifying and retaining employees and promoting business relationships. Represent the interests of their Service Areas during management meetings and participate in management decisions in relationship to The Altum Group’s growth and vision. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Favorable skills may include:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in land surveying;
• 8-10 years experience with a governmental agency or private consultant firm;
• 5-7 years experience as a Project Manager;
• Valid Licensed Land Surveyor Registration in California;
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of land surveying work
• Demonstrated ability to organize and supervise work of other surveyors, mappers and technicians;
• Capable of managing several managers as well as a Service Area;
• Excellent organization, coordination and managerial skills necessary to maintain project schedules and budgets;
• Strong abilities to develop business and promote business relationships;
• Skilled in related software, specifically in AutoCAD, Trimble or Leica software;
• Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills.
