County of Ventura - Survey Technician III

The County of Ventura Public Works Agency is seeking a Survey Technician III. Under general supervision, operates instruments and software programs, performs technical field and office survey and mapping activities of above average difficulty; performs survey computations and adjustments; conducts research projects based on survey data; assists the public in accessing and interpreting surveyor's records; and performs related work as required.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in land surveying in both field and office; is familiar with various types of surveying equipment, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Office Suite, and processing/adjustment software such as Leica Geo Office, StarNet, etc. This candidate will be self-motivated, adaptable, organized, efficient, and willing to learn; and will communicate well both orally and in writing; working well in a team setting.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE
Extensive experience in land surveying which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. This can be obtained by at least four years of surveying and/or mapping experience, two years of which must have been at the level of Survey Technician II.

Completion of an Associate of Arts degree in civil engineering or surveying technology OR 24 units of land surveying or other related subjects or possession of a California Land-Surveyor-in-Training Certificate may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the total required experience.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess and maintain a valid California driver license.
