Overland, Pacific & Cutler, Inc. is seeking a Project Surveyor to manage right of way engineering services for ongoing real property and transportation program management support services in Southern California. Demonstrated Experience
• Management of projects / design-lead for local agency right of way engineering / surveying design projects.
• Retracement of property / right of way (ROW) boundaries from self-performed / sub-consultant managed field surveys, preparation of legal descriptions / plat maps / records of surveys / parcel and tract maps / lot line adjustments / other land surveying documents / mapping for local agency and Caltrans projects. This includes being “in responsible charge” as defined in the California Professional Land Surveyor’s Act.
• Preparation of survey calculations / adjustments using standard boundary retracement principles / practices.
• Review of legal descriptions and plat maps for acquisition interests, identification of errors and inconsistencies with project design, and coordination with survey staff for resolution.
• Review of title encumbrances and ownership issues; follow through research with local agencies, and identification of solutions / resolution to remove encumbrances.
• Coordination with staff to organize records research efforts with various counties.
• Coordination with staff to organize field surveying efforts for both topographic and boundary control survey.
• Preparation of as-needed maps and exhibits using AutoCAD / ArcGIS / Microstation V8 / TDS Survey / Carlson Survey Software
• Coordination with municipal agencies for permitting and design related issues.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience practicing land surveying in California
 
Required Skills and Education
• Required Professional Land Surveying License in the State of California
• Minimum 5 years’ experience practicing design and overseeing construction management in Right of Way Engineering or Surveying required
• Required proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microstation, and Microsoft Excel software.
• Demonstrated proficiency in boundary analysis, public lands survey system, construction surveying, title, legal descriptions, and water boundary principles and practices.
• Demonstrated right of way engineering and/or transportation project history in the state of California
Designations / Licenses
• PLS - Professional Land Surveying License in the State of California required
