CHIEF OF FIELD PARTY

SALARY: $9,558 - $11,800/mo.
THE PORT OF OAKLAND is seeking qualified candidates for Chief of Field Party. The incumbent directs and reviews the
work of an assigned survey party and assists the Port Land Surveyor in the overall planning and organization of
mission critical programs. The Chief of Field Party may be assigned the responsible charge of one or more
mission critical programs such as Port Wide Control or Property Mapping. When assigned the responsible charge
of any project or program, the Chief of Field Party will provide professional supervision, specific direction and
training to all assigned project staff and will participate in the performance of work.
The minimum requirements include possession of an associate degree in engineering technology equivalent to that
given in an accredited California community college or two years of college engineering courses and a minimum of
five years of field survey crew experience. The most competitive candidates will have work experience as a Chief
of Party and possess certification as a Professional Land Surveyor.
