Stolen Equipment

Post by curtcrock »

Hi,

Just a quick word of caution, my Trimble S7 was stolen out of my truck on March 19. The address where it was stolen was 2020 Jerrold, San Francisco. They broke my passenger window to gain access to my truck cab.

Be on guard, it was left unattended for less than 5 minutes. I believe they saw me working in the area and followed me until they could make their move. They were driving a silver 4-door sedan and eye witnesses said they were wearing safety vests.

If you see one for sale under suspicious circumstances, contact me and I will alert the authorities.

Thanks,

Curt

Sorry to learn of your loss. I've taken to looping a cable through the seat frame and padlocking anything valuable to it when I have to leave equipment in the cab. It's a minor nuisance, but it might slow the bast**ds down enough to make a difference. But you know what they say about a determined thief...

Jim, thanks for the kind sentiments. Re: the cable, I was thinking of doing something like that; I believe you are correct, it would have slowed them down and I would just be replacing a window today.

Is there any tracker we can install inside the instrument?
