Craiglist Violation

I don't suppose that BPELSG has staff to chase after things like this, but the Craigslist ad below offers to procure land surveying work without a license.

I don't spend a lot of time on Craigslist. Is this kind of violation common? Policing these might be a whackamole activity.

Policing these is not hard, just takes a little time.
I no longer need to post on CL, not to mention they now charge businesses to post advertisements like this.

I have a little interest in this add since it is right next door to me.

there are a surprising number of people w/o LS advertising on sites like Home Advisor, Angies List and Thumbtack and Craigslist. They do not police the need for License. And public usually is unaware it's illegal

Talk is cheap, and it isn't hard to setup a free account on Yahoo to send an inquiry and get information on an individual.

Individuals without a license will continue to operate until they get caught. Well sometimes they still continue, and get a licensed individual to sign off for them. The key here is if The Board would go after those signing for others. I know of a couple companies in the Bay Area performing this potential illegal business action, but nothing gets resolved.

I have been satisfied with some of The Boards actions when notified, but they have lots to do.

I was recently asked by a potential client if I could beat his low bid. He attached the proposal. I told him I would pass and suggested he ask for the license number of the person he was signing a contract with and make sure that the person sets monuments with stamped tags with their license number and files the survey with the County. I did a little research and called the other guy after determining he was not licensed. I asked who was in responsible charge since it was clear he was not licensed. After a long pause he rattled off a name. I asked if this individual was a principal in his company and whether he had an organization statement filed with the Board listing this individual. Again a very long pause and then click. I sent the info I had to my local CLSA PPC chair who promptly forwarded it to the Board. He also called the individual and got the same silent treatment. I slept better that night...
