Huitt-Zollars, Inc. has an immediate full time Survey Party Chief opportunity at our Irvine, CA or Ontario, CA office. This is a union position, and non-union chiefs would be required to join the union. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in all phases of land surveying, construction, boundary and topographic surveying. Responsibilities

Perform survey field tasks in preparation of ALTA, boundary, topographic, construction and special surveys.
Performs surveying assignments, making exact measurements, and providing data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation and dimension of land or land features.
Operates and maintains all instruments and measuring devices including levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors.
Lead survey crew in daily activities.
Train survey crew in proper survey procedures.
Maintain safety procedures for all survey personnel.
Oversee safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and surveying equipment.
Ensure proper procedures are in place when transferring field data to office.
Oversee maintenance and operation of all surveying equipment.
Requirements:

Minimum 2 years land surveying experience
High School diploma or GED
Union membership
Highly motivated with working knowledge of surveying
Good written and verbal communication skills
Basic math skills
Ability to operate Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble GPS equipment, TSC3 data collectors, and digital levels, and other related equipment.
Ability to work well with a team
Ability to work outside in all seasons
Valid Driver’s License
