Mark Thomas is hiring for a Survey Technician in California

The Mark Thomas Survey division is looking for a Survey Technician to join the team and can be based in any of our offices. The role of the Survey Technician will include performing such tasks as 3d Scanning extraction, topographic mapping, supplying pertinent data to field crews, assisting in preparation of acquisition documents and maps and drafting in Civil3D. It is desired, but not required to have knowledge of Trimble Business Center, Topo Dot and MicroStation. The Survey Technician will perform such work under the direction and guidance of a Project Surveyor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides field crews with necessary information for the completion of their assignments
Completes work tasks with quality on time, within budget as determined by Survey Manager or delegated supervisor
Provides plans, exhibits, legal descriptions, and maps and surveys, that meets the client expectations
Updates supervisor on the status of assigned work on a regular
Performs construction staking calculations using standard methods
Prepare necessary field packages and information, data reduction efforts, filing and archiving with accuracy and in a timely manner
Researches property information, interprets maps and deeds necessary for accurate property descriptions
Uses CADD software to prepare property exhibits, maps, ATLA surveys, map checks, and topographic exhibits
Provides support as needed and necessary related to the storage, transportation, assembly, and O&M of field equipment
Participate in training activities and actively seek opportunities to contribute to the achievement of MTCo goals

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS or AA in Survey or related field preferred
0-3 years relevant experience
3d Scanning extraction required
Trimble Cloud experience required
Topo Dot required
MicroStation preferred
Working knowledge of MS Office and AutoCADD
Demonstrate effective written and verbal skills
Ability to multi-task and set priorities tasks effectively
Ability to work & collaborate in a team environment
