Tentative map expiration dates?

Post by CBarrett »

If tentative map expires because the agency can not process final maps fast enough, what kind of a recourse does the land developer have?
I am a bit unclear on interpretations of the SMA when a tentative map is approaching the 10 year limit, and how it may relate to 66452.6 (e) (6 year extension)

for quick reference SMA 66452.6 : https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/face ... um=66452.6.

If the map is in an acceptable form for recording and the conditions of approval have been met, the SMA is clear on the fact that the expiration period for the tentative map has stopped.

A couple of cases on point for this conclusion:
McPherson v. City of Manhattan Beach (1).pdf
Ailanto v. City of Half Moon (1).pdf
