Passing of Leon W. Harris L.S.

My Father, Leon W. Harris L.S. 3509, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023, is Salinas, California

He was a well known and loved surveyor in the Salinas and Monterey County area for many decades. Dad was also a partner in the Salinas Company H.D. Peters Company and Associates.
Dad had me out in the field nearly every weekend during the summer, to help him mark cut stakes or to complete a staking job.
At age 12, he taught me how to read a Lenker rod while using his new Carl Zeiss Automatic level. I was also taught how to read the stadia board for hilly topo's, as well as many other survey skills, which are carried with me today.

Our family wishes him rest in peace.
