That statement there is something I brought up to the County Surveyor when I was required to write a "See spot run" description of my methods of survey on a RS. As a matter of note, when that request was made, and before I put the story on the map, I had my son, who at that time was not a CE or LS or even a college grad and was clerking at a auto parts store, look at the map and determine how I did the survey. Took him ~5min to determine what I held and why.Most laypeople cannot read a surveyors map. They have little or no understanding of bearings and tenths of a foot.
