Notice of Licensed Land Surveyors

Post by Warren Smith »

Back in 1891, the state Surveyor General would mail notices to each County Recorder of newly licensed land surveyors.

Here is the first such correspondence to Tuolumne County.

Nice one. I have a copy right here posted on my bulletin board, next to the "theoretical township diagram" that most of us have at a glance away.

Thanks for the post, Warren!

The Marin County Recorder's Office has a CD-ROM of transmittals to the various counties. On that same CD-ROM was cattle branding registrations. Using these LS transmittals was fun chasing down a long ago local surveyor. (I think I sent a copy of this digital list to Dallas or Ric at BPELSG.)

Have a good week . . .
